Using a new technique to analyze 52 years of international conflict, researchers suggest that there may be no such thing as a "democratic peace". In addition, a model developed with this new technique was found to predict international conflict in the future better than any existing model.

According to the new research, economic trade relationships and participation in international governmental organizations are the key to keeping the peace among countries, rather than the original "democratic peace" theory. To find out more about this startling finding, co-hosts of Looking Forward Svetlana Ekimenko and Victor Erofeyev are joined by lead author of the study Skyler Cranmer, Associate Professor of Political Science at The Ohio State University.
