ISIL Militants Using Mosques in Syria as Hideout - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia is ready to use information obtained by the US-led coalition to fight the Islamic State in Syria, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said Tuesday, calling on coalition members to exchange reconnaissance on the militant group.

"If our colleagues from the anti-ISIL coalition have specific data on where ISIL gangs are located, we will gladly take their work into account," Antonov told reporters following a meeting with foreign military attaches.

"This was the message from our defense minister that I conveyed to the military attaches of the countries present at the meeting between me and my colleagues from the General Staff," he added.

Antonov stated that representatives of the US-led coalition are welcome to visit Russia's General Staff to jointly "solve the problem that faces all of us."

Russia’s Sukhoi Su-25 fighter jets, Su-24M and Su-34 bombers have been conducting precision airstrikes against ISIL targets in Syria since September 30, following a request from Syrian President Bashar Assad.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, its airstrikes have already done considerable damage to ISIL' command and logistics networks, as well as to the infrastructure needed to equip suicide bombers.

Russia has been carrying out its airstrikes based on Russian and Syrian intelligence, collected through various means including aerial reconnaissance missions. According to the Defense Ministry, the Russian aircraft being used in the campaign have been fitted with equipment that allows them to conduct "absolutely precise" airstrikes against ISIL throughout Syria.

The US-led international coalition against ISIL has conducted more than 6,500 airstrikes in Iraq since August 2014, and in Syria since September 2014, without the approval of the UN Security Council or the Syrian government.
