WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A long-term economy growth in the United States will weaken due to the aging population as well as low productivity growth, IMF announced in its World Economic Outlook on Tuesday.

"However, long-term growth prospects are weaker, with potential growth estimated to be only about 2 percent, weighed down by an aging population and low total factor productivity growth," the report stated.
