MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Iraq welcomes Russia’s decision to use its armed forces in the fight against the Islamic State as long as it stays within the borders of Syria, the head of Iraq’s defense and security committee said Wednesday.
“Iraq welcomes this decision [on airstrikes against the ISIL] as long as this is within the borders of Syria,” Haqim Zamli told RIA Novosti by telephone.
