FIFA Begins Investigation Into Corruption Claims Against UEFA, FIFA Chiefs
MOSCOW (Sputnik) On Saturday, the FIFA ethics committee launched a probe into corruption claims against President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Michel Platini and FIFA President Joseph Blatter.

"[Blatter’s] early resignation is not under discussion. The president remains the president,” Klaus Stoehlker said, as cited by the media.

According to Stoehlker, Blatter does not have a cause for the slightest concern in regards to the investigation.

Blatter, the head of FIFA since 1998, was re-elected for a fifth term on May 29 and announced his resignation from the post on June 2. Blatter is expected to remain in his post until a new president is elected, which is scheduled to happen by March 2016.
