Two suicide bombers detonated themselves in a Houthi-run Balili mosque in the capital of Yemen, Sanaa, on Thursday, resulting in numerous casualties, news agencies reported.

The explosions occurred on the first day of the Muslim Eid-al-Adha holiday when people attended prayers. At least 29 people lost their lives, according to the local Yemen Post Newspaper.

The blasts took place near a police academy reportedly resulting in deaths and wounds.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Sanaa has suffered a string of bombings of Shia mosques by ISIL terrorists in the recent months.

Details to follow.
