Time to Reconcile? Why Putin and Obama Should Finally Meet
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier Thursday, the Kremlin spokesman confirmed that Putin and Obama would meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday.

Putin will lead a Russian delegation and will address the UN General Assembly about the crises in Ukraine and Syria as well as the international fight against terrorism on September 28.

The annual general debate at the UN General Assembly will take place on September 28 — October 3.

"Of course, the main topic is Syria," Peskov told reporters.

According to the spokesman, the Ukrainian crisis will only be discussed if there is time left at the end of the leaders' meeting. "The main discussion on Ukraine will take place on [October] 2 in Paris in the Normandy format," he said.
