On Thursday, Lynch spoke to the Washington Advisory Committee on Trafficking in Seattle about the ongoing need to fight human trafficking and assist victims with needed services.

"Human traffickers prey on some of the most vulnerable members of our society, and their crimes — which are nothing short of modern-day slavery — have no place in this country," Lynch said.

More than $22 million of the grant money will support of 16 anti-human trafficking groups across the United States. Another $1 million will be given to the International Association of Chiefs of Police to probe training of anti-human trafficking task forces and as any technical assistance.
