The EU's refugee crisis has led to the bloc's German leader reimposing temporary border controls, which then set off a spate of copycat measures by Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary.

One of the EU’s defining qualities is the freedom of movement that people within its space enjoy, but now that fundamental right appears to be endangered. It’s all the more ironic that it was Germany which took the first steps in this direction, since it’s traditionally been the cheerleader of closer ties between the organization’s members. But that’s not all, since security has now been tightened on EU’s external border between Hungary and Serbia, which has the potential to strand tens of thousands of refugees in the already overwhelmed Balkan state.

Dr. Roslyn Fuller, International Law lecturer and author (studio guest); Aleksandar Pavic, political analyst based in Serbia and Gabor Horvath, Foreign Editor at the Nepszabadsag newspaper(Budapest) commented on the issue.
