UN, UNESCO to Discuss Ukraine’s ‘Troubling’ Journalist Blacklist
19:20 GMT 17.09.2015 (Updated: 20:10 GMT 19.10.2022) The United Nations plans to hold talks with UNESCO over Ukraine’s decision to put several foreign journalists on its blacklist, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's spokesman said Thursday.
UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — He added that the United Nations would contact UNESCO to discuss the issue.
"We've seen those reports. Obviously where journalists are targeted, it'd be quite troubling," Stephane Dujarric told reporters.

On Wednesday, Ukraine expanded its sanctions list to include 90 legal entities and 388 individuals, mostly state officials, politicians and over 40 journalists, based in Russia and other countries. The sanctions stipulate year-long entry bans and asset freezes.
Several international organizations, including Reporters Without Borders and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, have condemned the inclusion of journalists in the blacklist.
