With Donald Trump’s sights set on the White House, the critical question has remained: Who, oh who, has the panache necessary to fill in as host of NBC’s "The Celebrity Apprentice?" In a surprise move, the successor of one of America’s most fervently anti-immigrant figureheads will be Austrian-born Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Whether you remember him as Conan the Barbarian, the Kindergarten Cop, the Terminator, or the two-term Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger has racked up quite a resume. According to an NBC announcement, he can now add "Celebrity Apprentice Host" to the top of that list.

"Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves," Paul Telegdy, president of alternative programming for NBC, said in a statement.

The reality show pits celebrity against celebrity to see who can develop the best business strategies, and according to Reuters, Schwarzenegger is a big fan. The action star appreciates "the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork."

"I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity," he added.

Schwarzenegger is no stranger to business. The former bodybuilder cofounded a small bricklaying business in the 1960’s. He also has history as a successful investor, dabbling in everything from real estate to the Planet Hollywood restaurant franchise.

"I could have learned about business without a parade of teachers guiding me," Schwarzenegger wrote on his website in 2001. "From Milton Freidman to Donald Trump…and now, Les Wexner and Warren Buffett. I even learned a thing or two from Planet Hollywood, such as when to get out! And I did!"

His old friend Donald Trump, current Republican presidential frontrunner, appears to be helping Schwarzenegger out again. Trump has hosted the show for the past seven seasons, and will now pass the baton as he makes his White House bid.

Given the Donald’s widely publicized xenophobic views, the selection of an Austrian immigrant to take over his show is somewhat surprising.

"[Mexico is] sending people that have lots of problems, and they are bringing those problems to us," Trump said while announcing his presidential candidacy in June. "They are bringing drugs, and bringing crime, and they’re rapists."

Trump evidently makes exceptions for immigrants as long as they’re from Europe.

And if Trump loses the election, what then? Will he want his empire back? Will the two larger-than-life personalities go head-to-head in a 30-minute-long, Commando-esque shootout? Will there be chest-bumping? Will Trump call Arnold a "hater and a loser?"

Now that would be quality television.
