A crane accident at the grand mosque in the holy Saudi city of Mecca killed 107 people and injured up to 238, the Saudi civil defense authority announced early Saturday.
It said search and rescue teams were on site alongside the Saudi Red Crescent relief group.

Media reports cited strong winds and torrential rain had caused the crane to collapse.
This video, shared on Instagram appears to show the scene moments before the crane collapse.
The incident occurred as hundreds of thousands of Muslims gather from all over the world for the annual hajj pilgrimage set to begin later this month.
