Next Generation Ratnik Soldier Equipment to be Adopted Into Service by 2015
In June Andrei Grigoryev, the head of the Russian government's Prospective Research Foundation, said that the Ratnik-2 gear system will be finished between 2025 and 2030, and a Russian military android that was previously shown in January will be ready by the end of the year.

“What we need is a color-changing outfit unseen by infrared scopes and bullet-proof jackets that would be lighter than what we have now and would be based on different principles,” Oleg Martyanov, who sits on the government’s Defense Industry Commission, said on the sidelines of conference on robotics in Moscow.

The current Ratnik combat gear is equipped with a special kit that allows soldiers to connect to drones for intelligence and tactical data.

Developed by Russia's United Instrument Corporation, the kit consists of communications, data transmission and navigation systems; the goal is to turn servicemen into part of a single combat system that may be controlled automatically.
