Eyes on the Road: Taking a Selfie Ends in Crash

A jeep driver learns the hard way why he shouldn't try to take a selfie while driving.

Selfie sticks have become somewhat ubiquitous, so much so that now many venues and arenas have resorted to prohibiting them. And not just because they can be a nuisance, but also because apparently when people are filming themselves, they're likely to forget everything around them. Like this guy.

Youtuber Alex Lopatnyuk was driving his Jeep Wrangler, and thought it might be a good idea to film himself. Preoccuppied with the recording of himself, Lopatnyuk forgot the most important rule of driving: watch the road. In fact, he was so distracted that he failed to notice a pick up truck right in front of him, and ended up crashing into it. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident.

There's also an after shot of the wrecked Jeep, just in case you needed a reminder of why driving with a selfie stick is just a bad idea.
