To prevent the further influx of Syrian refugees to Europe, one must stop the ongoing civil war and end an economic blockade of the country, German newspaper Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten said.

Council of Europe Urges EU to Take More Responsibiltiy for Syrian Refugees
As the refugee crisis hit a new high and began to directly affect EU countries, Europeans are starting to speak out louder urging the international community to step up the efforts to end the bloody conflict.

The German newspaper blamed both the United States and Russia for fueling the Syrian conflict, as the military-industrial complexes of these countries are financially benefiting from the war.

What Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten fails to mention is that it was the West led by the United States that started arming various Syrian militant factions, instigating the Syrian Civil War in hope of overthrowing the government of Bashar al-Assad. Soon after, some of these Syrian rebels merged with Islamic State, further destabilizing the region.

To stop the Syrian conflict, the world needs to stop the supply of arms into the Middle East. Furthermore, the United States, Canada, Russia and the countries of the Persian Gulf should start accepting more refugees, Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten said.

The economic blockade of Syria must also stop. The German newspaper called it a hypocrisy that the West was seeking to weaken the al-Assad regime despite knowing that it would lead to a humanitarian catastrophe in the country.

Well, congratulations Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten. The German newspaper pretty much outlined all the points that the Russian government has been advocating since the start of the Syrian conflict. But that's alright, most people change their views when problems become personal and show up on their doorstep instead of some far and distant land.
