According to Crusius, the contemporary Europe is no longer a political alliance but an entity based on economic interests. What is more, as the analyst says, the Greek crisis has sparked national hostility within the EU which is fueled by local media.
"European media has a great power which it can handle. It totally lacks critical thinking. Its readers practically have no chance to receive unbiased coverage," he points out.
"Many of the so-called quality media outlets simply listen to [German Chancellor Angela] Merkel and then retranslate her statements. That looks like a weird symbiosis of the government and the Fourth Estate," Crusius adds.
The Euro currency union is being ruined, he says. In order to keep it the EU has to shift to a social and economic entity and settle the ongoing migrant crisis.
Further integration within Europe is impossible, the analyst warns. Neoliberalism has run dry and turned into a form of religion for the EU.
"The migrant crisis proves that the one-sided liberal approach focused on competitive capabilities and the pointless struggle to save the Euro is ruining the unity of the European nations," Crusius concludes.
