Poroshenko: Special Status for Donbass Absent in Amendments to Constitution
KIEV (Sputnik) — Ukraine has fulfilled all commitments under the Minsk peace agreements in regard to constitutional reforms aimed at decentralization, President Petro Poroshenko said on Tuesday.

Minsk deal describes decentralization of particular districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions and their special status as the key elements of the proposed constitutional reform in Ukraine.

However, Poroshenko said Monday that the draft law on constitutional reforms in Ukraine does not stipulate a special status for crisis-hit Donbass.

"The president stressed that the Ukrainian side had fully met its political obligations under the February 12 Minsk accords in regard to constitutional reform in the sphere of decentralization," Poroshenko's press service said following his meeting with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine Martin Sajdik.
