UK Labour Party leadership front-runner Jeremy Corbyn has taken the first steps toward building a shadow cabinet, initiating talks about specific roles with potential candidates, The Telegraph reported Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The favorite to become the next Labour leader is expected to start “one to one meetings” within days, the newspaper cited a source as saying. Campaigning for the Labour leadership will conclude on September 10; the result of the election will be announced on September 12.

Blairite Labour Plotting Coup to Axe Corbyn
In July, fourteen of the 35 Labour Party Members of Parliament who initially nominated Corbyn for the leadership position, have stated their intention to support his rivals in the September elections, which raises concerns over Corbyn's leadership, the Telegraph reported.

On August 20, local media reported that UK Labour Party lawmakers had been in talks about ousting Corbyn, should he be elected party leader, as many believed his left-wing policies to be too hardline.

The Labour leadership vote was triggered by the resignation of Ed Miliband, after his party dismal result in the May general election.
