In Moscow, US Special Envoy to Syria Michael Ratney is expected to discuss ways to resolve the Syrian crisis with Mikhail Bogdanov, Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – United States Special Envoy to Syria Michael Ratney arrived in the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow for talks on the Syrian crisis, a Sputnik correspondent reported Friday.

Ratney, appointed to the post replacing an ambassadorial position in July 28, is expected to discuss the Syrian crisis with Mikhail Bogdanov, Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa.

Ratney is due to travel to Saudi Arabia and Switzerland to continue talks on bringing an end to the Syrian conflict entering its fifth year.
