While the Kiev authorities engage in political daydreaming the majority of Ukrainian enterprises are going under, depriving the country of all hope of an economic rebound, ex-Premier Mykola Azarov wrote on Tuesday.

“The government’s policy of deindustrialization has resulted in plants and factories either suspending work or closing down altogether,’ Azarov wrote on his Facebook page.

“…The big shots in Kiev think that Ukraine has no need for coal mines, steel mills, chemical enterprises, rockets and planes,” Azarov wrote, adding that all the powers-that-be in Kiev now need are enterprises that make weapons that kill people, like, for example, the Malyshev tank factory in Kharkiv.

“Money is all that matters these days,” Azarov wrote.

What Ukraine desperately needs now are favorable conditions for structural reforms.

“To make this happen we need cooperation with both the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, but this is impossible given the situation we now live in,” Mykola Azarov wrote in conclusion.
