MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Two suspects with automatic weapons have been detained after a shooting at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, local Milliyet newspaper reported Wednesday.
According to Turkish media, one policeman was slightly injured in an attack on the security checkpoint of the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, a popular tourist attraction. The attackers threw a stun grenade at security guards and opened fire.

Police and ambulances are on the scene, and the nearby Taksim Square has been cordoned off, Turkey's Hurriyet newspaper said. According to preliminary accounts one was injured in the shooting, the newspaper reports.
The incident came during growing tensions in Turkey as the government wages an unprecedented "anti-terror" offensive against jihadists and Kurdish militants.
