ABBYY Software Company has still not been affected by Western Sanctions.

MOSCOW (Sputnik), Alexander Mosesov — ABBYY Software Company, which comprises sixteen global offices, but conducts most of the research and development projects in Moscow, has still not been affected by Western Sanctions, company's founder David Yang told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"On us, [ABBYY] I cannot yet say that they [the sanctions] affected us," Yang said.

Yang added that he is familiar with one case where an already signed document with a US firm with Russian roots has been torn after the imposition of sanctions.

ABBYY is an international software company that provides optical character recognition, document capture and language software for both PC and mobile devices.

The company was founded in 1989 by David Yang, and has four headquarters, namely in the United States, Germany, Ukraine, and Russia.

Last year, following Crimea's reunification with Russia and the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, Moscow's relations with the West deteriorated. The United States, the European Union and their allies accused Russia of interfering with Ukraine's internal affairs and imposed several rounds of sanctions against Russia.
