WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Vice President Joe Biden will decide whether to run in the 2016 presidential race by summer’s end, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a briefing on Monday.
“What the Vice President [Biden] has said publically, a possible campaign for the presidency is something he is considering, and he anticipated that he would make a decision by the end of the summer,” Earnest stated.
If Biden decides to run for the presidency, it will be his third attempt following the presidential campaigns in 1988 and 2008. After the 2008 campaign Biden has served two terms as vice president in a tandem with President Barack Obama.
Concerning foreign policy, Biden has been an active supporter of the Ukrainian government of President Petro Poroshenko.
In May 2015, Biden said the White House is still considering providing Kiev with arms and equipment to protect its sovereignty.
