MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A high-ranking diplomat at the Swedish Embassy in Moscow has been declared persona non grata and is forced to leave Russia, the Swedish foreign ministry said Monday.
"I can confirm that a Swedish diplomat has to leave Russia," ministry spokesman Johan Tegel told Sweden's national broadcaster SVT.
According to the Swedish ministry, Moscow's decision is "unfounded," and will affect the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
