WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US billionaire businessman Donald Trump is beating Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush more than two to one for the Republican presidential nomination in a new Arizona poll, the Trump campaign announced in a press release.
“According to likely Arizona GOP voters, Donald Trump is by far and away the candidate that most resonates, in which he also polled at a 61.3 percent favorability rating,” pollster Michael Noble said in the press release.
The poll was conducted on July 29 by MBQF, a public affairs and consulting firm based in Phoenix, Arizona, a statement from the company said.
Arizona is the home state of Senator John McCain, whom Trump insulted last month, claiming that that the veteran Senator and former prisoner-of-war in Vietnam was not a legitimate hero.
Trump has also been highlighting popular fears over lack of sufficient border security and uncontrolled flows of illegal immigrants into the United States, an issue that resonates strongly in Arizona, which is on the US-Mexican border.
