Return of the King: Rivaldo & Son Score Three Goals in Brazilian League

Subscribe
Brazilian football legend Rivaldo fulfilled a top dream: he played together with his son in an official game, and they both scored goals.

The 43-year-old Brazilian striker made a splashing return into the big game after recovering from a knee injury and staying away from football for 15 months. Rivaldo is the captain of Brazilian club Mogi Mirim — and its president at the same time.

In a game against Macae, Rivaldo Junior, of Rivaldinho, scored a brace, and his father Rivaldo scored one goal from the penalty spot. What a cool family business!

Rivaldo is a true legend. The clever and gifted attacking midfielder/second striker starred in such great clubs as Barcelona and AC Milan. He won the FIFA 2002 World Cup as an indispensable author of Brazil's brilliant performance and their following victory.

He won the Ballon d'Or in 1999 and was named FIFA World Player of the Year.

Recently he said that he would have won the Ballon d'Or three times now, if he were at the top of his game.

As for his son Rivaldinho, the 20-year-old is doing his best to follow in his father's footsteps. Rivaldo Junior even recreated his father's legendary goal. Watch and enjoy.

The two look like brothers. Rivaldo is 43, but who can say that without consulting an encyclopedia? He recently said that the Brazilian national team's door is open for everyone now. Why don't we see him in the top squad again?
