MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Thursday, a US inspector general involved in the probe told Congress that at least four letters stored on Clinton’s private account while she was secretary of state should have been marked classified since they contained sensitive information.
"What I think you're seeing here is a very typical kind of discussion, to some extent disagreement, among various parts of the government over what should or should not be publicly released," Clinton told reporters in Iowa during her campaign trail, as cited by NBC News.
Clinton, who is a Democratic Party frontrunner in the 2016 presidential election, has been under fire over the mismanagement of her official emails since the story came to light in March. She is accused of using a private account to dodge transparency rules.
Clinton argues that none of some 55,000 pages of emails she has handed over to the Department of Justice were secret and has long been urging to release them.
