MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, a suspicious package was found in Nantes Atlantique Airport’s Hall 1. As the owner was not found, the airport was partially evacuated and combat engineers were deployed in the area.

According to the Presse Ocean outlet, combat engineers determined that the suspicious object posed no hazard. Evacuated passengers and personnel were allowed to return to the airport.

The incident comes a week after two explosions rocked a petrochemical plant six miles from the Marseille Provence Airport in the southern France. According to the results of a preliminary investigation, the blast was of criminal origin.
