Beachgoers Rescue Stranded Great White Shark

Subscribe
A juvenile great white shark is stranded on a Cape Cod beach after it tries to capture a seagull.

The shark is seen lying on a puddle of water onshore, weakly swaying its tale and struggling to breathe, as bystanders watch. About 40 people gathered around the shark as it became motionless, fearing it was dead, until officials and other beachgoers begin pouring buckets of water on it. People can be heard cheering when the shark moves again.

In an effort that took nearly an hour, a man ties a rope to the great white's fin and attaches it to a harbor patrol boat, which then drags the shark back to sea.
