Greek banks will remain closed until Friday, the Greek Finance Ministry’s press service announced Wednesday.

Greek Civil Servants to Strike Against ‘Pillage’ of New Bailout

ATHENS (Sputnik) – On Tuesday, the Finance Ministry extended the bank holiday by 24 hours through Wednesday, but then extended it for yet another 24 hours.

The government announced the bank holiday on June 29 and restricted cash withdrawals to €60 ($66) per person per day.

Since then, the bank holiday has been extended three times.
