G36 Critics Constantly Fell Under Pressure, Lost Their Jobs – German Media
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — German arms company Heckler & Koch filed an application to a local court in order to refute the German Army procurement agency’s claims of alleged quality defects of the G36 assault rifle.

Warranty claims, lodged on June 10, followed a study commissioned by the Ministry of Defense, that revealed serious shortcomings in the mass-produced G36. It was revealed that the rifle tends to heat up during continuous fire and becomes incapable of hitting targets past about 250 yards.

"The aim is to have it legally determined that the alleged defects do not exist."

Heckler & Koch is one of the world's leading manufacturers of small arms, according to the company's website. It has security forces, the police and special forces of the German Federal Armed Forces, NATO and NATO-associated states among its partners.

Heckler & Koch’s G36 is the individual weapon of many armies and security forces around the world. Since the company started producing the G36 in 1997, it has delivered nearly 180,000 to the German armed forces.
