Described as being a device of medium power by Col. Oscar Pinzon of the Bogota Metropolitan Police, no one has claimed responsibility for the blast.
The explosion comes amid rising tensions between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia rebel movement.
