The pentagon announced on Thursday that Islamic State leader Tariq Bin-al-Tahar Bin al Falih al-‘Awni al-Harzi was killed in a US led strike in Syria.

A three million dollar reward had previously been offered for information that would bring the high level IS commander to justice.

Al-Harzi is known as one of the first terrorists to join IS, and had been arming militants and facilitating their travel since 2013.  In 2014, al-Harzi raised $2 million for ISIL “military operations” from a donor in Qatar. He is also believed to be the leader of IS’ suicide bomber facilitation pipeline.

Al-Harzi was designated a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the US Department of the Treasury on September 24, 2014.
