Negotiations on Iran's controversial nuclear program are moving in the right direction and a final nuclear deal may be reached in the upcoming days, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

VIENNA (Sputnik) — The P5+1 group and Iran need to finalize the agreements on the Tehran's nuclear issue and present them to the UN Security Council, the Russian foreign minister said.

"The situation with the talks is progressing in the right direction. The remaining issues are, for the most part, not technical, but procedural, I would say, such as formalizing the agreements and presenting them to the UN Security Council."

"We have every reason to believe that the result is within reach," Lavrov added. "We have instructed our deputies to do everything possible for the agreement to be reached in the upcoming days."
