MOSCOW (Sputnik) The suspected perpetrator of the Friday attack on a gas factory in southeastern France had been working in the same company with the only victim of the attack, local media reported on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Le Dauphine Libere newspaper reported that the decapitated body found on the scene of an alleged Islamist attack in the southeastern French town of Saint-Quentin-Fallavier has been identified as that of a manager of a local transport company that was making a delivery to the factory when he became embroiled in the attack.

The outlet reported later, citing “a reliable source”, that an alleged attacker, identified by the French Ministry of the Interior earlier in the day as Lyon-region resident Yassin Salhi, arrived to the factory in a car belonging to the same company.

On Friday, an attack occurred at a US-owned gas factory near France's second-largest city of Lyon, leaving one dead and two injured. Two individuals reportedly caused an explosion by driving a car into a warehouse filled with canisters containing gas after beheading a victim. The suspects, including Salhi, are said to have been detained.

Local media reported earlier that French President Francois Hollande canceled his meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, scheduled to take place in Brussels later on Friday, because of the incident.
