There are still multiple stumbling blocks in talks between Iran and the P5+1 international mediators that are hampering the negotiations on Iran’s controversial nuclear program, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Sputnik.

VIENNA (Sputnik) – The P5+1 group of international mediators comprising Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany are meeting in Vienna with Iranian officials ahead of the June 30 deadline to reach a comprehensive agreement on Tehran's nuclear program.

"There is still no clarity on the [date of the] ministerial meeting. The agreement is indeed at a high level of readiness, but a number of questions are being resolved with a lot of difficulty; we have not yet reached a stage where there would be just a few issues that would be left for the ministerial level."

In April, Iran and the P5+1 agreed on a framework for a deal ensuring the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear activities. The agreement, reached in the the Swiss city of Lausanne, stipulates that Iran cut back uranium enrichment activities and decrease the number of centrifuges in exchange for Western sanctions relief.

On Wednesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that there would be no final agreement if Tehran does not follow through on all of its Lausanne commitments.
