At Least 3 People Injured in Third US Public Shooting in Two Days

At least 3 people reportedly were shot in a park in Jersey City at the third open-air shooting to take place in the United States over the weekend.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – At least 3 people were shot in a park in Jersey City, WABC-TV reports, saying that the victims could have sustained life-threatening injuries in what is the third open-air shooting to take place in the United States over the weekend.

The shooting occurred on Sunday night and Jersey police confirmed to WABC-TV that at least 3 people were hurt.

RT reported that 4 people were shot in Jersey City on Sunday, including two 15-year-old teenagers.

The incident comes a day after two separate shootings that took place at block parties in Detroit and Philadelphia on Saturday.

The Detroit shooting left one person dead and 11 others wounded. The Philadelphia shooting resulted in 10 people being injured, including 3 children.

Police are investigating all of three shootings that come in the wake of the Charleston church massacre.

On Wednesday, Dylann Roof, a white 21-year-old who identifies with racist apartheid groups, opened fire at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Charleston, South Carolina. As a result, nine people were killed. Roof has confessed to murdering the churchgoers and was charged with 9 counts of murder and possession of a firearm on Friday.
