French software company and partner of Mistral maker DCNS, Dassault Systemes, said that it is ready to provide Russia's shipbuilding industry with 3D modeling tools.

France's 3D modeling company Dassault Systemes is ready to cooperate with Russia to build helicopter carriers similar to the Mistral, the company's vice-president Michel Tellier told RIA Novosti in an interview at the Paris Air Show, one of the world's largest aviation and defense industry expositions.

Dassault Systemes, a part of Dassault Group, is the world's largest 3D modeling company which works across 12 sectors, most famously aviation, as well as with French Mistral shipbuilder DCNS. The French government has stalled the transfer of the Mistral helicopter carriers built for Russia since 2014. In addition to 3D modeling, it provides manufacturing, cooperation and automation solutions collectively known as product lifecycle management.

"In accordance with our international obligation and to continue 10 years of partnership, we are ready to offer our most advanced technologies and solutions in the field of naval 3D modeling to the Russian shipbuilding industry and to be a valuable technological partner in its development strategy," Tellier said.

Tellier did not say whether the company took part in developing Mistral helicopter carriers, but said that the company is a client.

"DCNS is our client in a certain field, but this is a confidential question," Tellier added.

Dassault Systemes' clients include Boeing, Airbus and Russia's Sukhoi Civil Aircraft.
