Flash Mob on Red Square: Russians Sing National Anthem

Russian artist Yaroslav Sumishevskiy organized a flash mob on Moscow’s Red Square, leading scores of people to sing the country’s national anthem a capella.

“I wanted to raise the level of patriotism and check how well citizens know the anthem”, he said. The singer added that the event was slated for Russia Day on June 12, but was staged earlier due to a major concert which was planned for the same day on the Red Square.

Sumishevskiy knows how to organize singing flash mobs. Earlier, he performed a song from a popular Soviet movie in an electronics store together with visitors.
