Medieval ship wreckage was discovered at the coastline of the Estonian capital of Tallinn on the site of the old amusement park, website Delfi reported Thursday.

A construction firm started excavation works on the site for building a new residential compound. During the works ship wreckage was unearthed. It is supposed to be 400-700 years old. The construction has now been suspended.

After the wreckage of the first ship was discovered, geo-radar research was conducted. It was found that there were several ships at the bottom of the sea. After they are unearthed, the department of cultural legacy will deal with them.

Now, only one ship is visible with its upper part unearthed. It will take several weeks to excavate it completely. According to the preliminary data, the ships have a length of nearly 15 meters, and a width of four meters.
