The prosecutor leading the deadly Germanwings Airbus crash that killed all 150 passengers, announced that the plane pilot saw more than 40 doctors in the last 5 years, making him completely unfit to fly the plane.

Germanwings pilot Andreas Lubitz saw 41 doctors in 5 years and 7 in the month before crash, the prosecutor said.

The French prosecutor also said that even though doctors felt the co-pilot was not fit to fly, they didn't tell the company.

As it was reported earlier the state prosecutor leading the investigation of the Germanwings Airbus crash in the French Alps in March said that the co-pilot, who is believed to have intentionally crashed the plane, had contacted dozens of doctors before the disaster.

Lubitz was known to have undergone psychological treatment in 2009 while in training at Germanwings' parent-company Lufthansa's flying school.

Intermittent bouts of depression caused him to suspend his training in 2008. Lubitz went on to train at Lufthansa's flight school in Arizona after his reinstatement.

Following the crash, investigators found a ripped up doctor's note saying Lubitz was unfit to work. His computer showed a web search history that included searches for cockpit doors and methods of committing suicide.
