Chairman and CEO of Lufthansa Carsten Spohr says that the German air carrier will return the bodies of all victims of the March Germanwings crash to their families by the end of the month.

MIAMI (Sputnik) – German air carrier Lufthansa will return the bodies of all victims of the March Germanwings crash to their families by the end of the month, Chairman and CEO of Lufthansa Carsten Spohr told journalists at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) summit in Miami.

"We’ll then be progressing returning all of them to their families and relatives as fast as we can during the month of June," Spohr said on Sunday.

All Victims of Germanwings Crash Identified, Bodies Can Be Sent Home
Spohr noted that the bodies of 30 victims will be flown to their homes on June 9.

"The first 30 victims will be flown from Marseille [France] to Dusseldorf [Germany] with the Lufthansa flight. It will be a cargo airplane bringing those victims home to their loved ones," he explained.

Germanwings Airbus A320, en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf, crashed in a remote area of the French Alps on March 24, killing 150 people on board.

According to the information from the plane’s black boxes, copilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed the plane after locking the pilot out of the cockpit.
