Russia and Norway have completed the Barents-2015 naval drills in the Barents Sea, Russian Northern Fleet spokesman Captain 1st Rank Vadim Serga said Thursday.

The two-day annual exercise, codenamed “Barents-2015,” will train for at-sea ship and aircraft crew search and rescue operations, as well as oil spill clean-ups in the areas of the Arctic sea off the northern coasts of Norway and Russia - Sputnik International

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Fleet forces taking part in the exercise have returned to their main base in the town of Severomorsk, Serga said.

The two-day annual exercise included at-sea ship and aircraft crew search and rescue operations, as well as training to clean up oil spills in the areas of the Arctic sea off the northern coasts of Norway and Russia.

Russia participated with rescue helicopters, planes and a rescue tug from the Northern Fleet, while Norway deployed rescue helicopters and coast guard ships.
