Crews of Mi-8AMTSh-B Terminator assault transport helicopters took part in nighttime practicing which included missile firing and defeating a simulated enemy, the press office of the Russian Central Military District reported.

For the first time in this year, the crews carried out combat firing using the UPK-23 cannon system with the GSh-23L cannon and unguided air-to-surface missiles in nighttime.

"Pilots were tasked to locate targets, near them at minimum altitude and hit the targets. Crews operated both single and in pairs," the report read.

The nighttime practicing was part of a two-day exercises which included assigned route flights and firing at simulated enemy targets. More than 30 training flights were carried out.
