MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The guards were on patrol at the southwestern Jazan province's Harth sector when they came under attack late Saturday, the Saudi Press Agency cited the ministry spokesman as saying.
The spokesman revealed the killed border guard's identity as Lance Corporal Ismail Mohammed Ibrahim Sindi and said the seven injured guards were hospitalized immediately.
A Saudi-led coalition has been engaged in a two-month air campaign against Shiite Houthi opposition group that seized vast parts of Yemen over the past several months.
