Memorial Day Weekend Shootings in Baltimore Kill Five, Injure 11

Memorial Day weekend rang in with gun fire throughout Baltimore.

Since Friday, 11 people have been shot in different incidents that left five dead, according to police reports.

One man died in a hospital after being shot in the torso just after 11 p.m. on Benkert Avenue., in the St. Josephs neighborhood.

At about 11:51 p.m., one man was fatally shot in the head in the 1900 block of Willhelm St. in Carrolton Ridge. A second man found in the vicinity was shot in the neck. As police were investigating the area, they found a third man suffering a shot to the head.

Then, on Saturday at about 5:40 a.m., a male was found with gunshot wounds to his leg and thigh in the 1800 block of Edmondson Avenue in Harlem Park. He was taken to a local hospital, where two other men walked in seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. One was shot in the thigh and the other had been shot in the ankle.

Just after 9 a.m., police found a fatally shot male lying in an alley in the 100 block of S. Augusta Avenue.

Later that afternoon, separate shootings killed two people and injured one other.

At about 1:33 p.m., officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the waist in the intersection of Hollins and Payson Street. She then died in an area hospital.  

Later at about 2:17 p.m., a male suffering a gunshot wound to the chest died in a hospital after being found in the 2800 block of St. Lo Drive.  

Finally, at about 2:53 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 3200 block of E. Northern Parkway, where they found a man suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
