A Kiev district court satisfied the request by the chief investigator and applied the measure of restraint in the form of custody through July 19 for two Russian citizens captured in armed clashes.

Russia Demands Release of 2 Alleged Servicemen Captured in Eastern Ukraine
KIEV (Sputnik) — A Kiev district court ruled on Friday that two Russian citizens captured in armed clashes in eastern Ukraine should remain in custody at least until July 19.

"The court rules to satisfy the request by the chief investigator and to apply the measure of restraint in the form of custody through July 19," Judge Valentina Malinovskaya announced in the court room.

Alexander Alexandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev were reportedly wounded and taken prisoner near the front line town of Shchastia in the Luhansk region on Saturday.

The Russian Defense Ministry has dismissed claims that the prisoners were active-duty servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces and demanded their immediate release.
