Kremlin Considers Ukraine's Decision to Suspend Debt Payments Illegitimate
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Ukrainian parliament passed a law giving the government the right to impose a moratorium on the country’s foreign debts and will be in force until July 1, 2016.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the suspension of payments could only relate to private loans, but Ukraine considered its $3-billion debt to Russia also as a private one, a position Moscow totally disagreed with.

However, that so far there is no reason to file a lawsuit yet, but if Ukraine fails to pay its third payment of $75 million on bonds acquired by Russia by June 20, then Moscow will have to turn to an international court, Siluanov said.
