WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet the government leaders of China and South Korea during his visit to the countries from May 16 until May 18, the US Department of State announced in a release on Friday.
“Kerry will travel to Beijing, People’s Republic of China, from May 16 to 17,” the release said.
During the meetings with Chinese government officials Kerry will advance US priorities ahead of the seventh session of the US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue in the summer of 2015 and the planned visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the United States in the fall of 2015, according to the release.
“Kerry will then visit Seoul, Republic of Korea, from May 17 to 18,” the State Department said.
The US state secretary will meet South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye and Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se to discuss various issues as well as Park’s upcoming visit to the United States, the rerelease noted.
On Tuesday, Kerry will be back to the United States, and will deliver remarks on trade in Seattle, Washington.
