Police and army rescuers were forced to suspend the search for bodies of those killed in the deadly earthquake as the area in and around a village in northern Nepal was deemed unsafe following a series of avalanches on Friday and Saturday. Heavy rainfall and fog were also a factor.

The 7.8 earthquake and its powerful aftershocks rocked Nepal on April 25, leaving more than 8,000 people and 16,000 wounded. The natural disaster is estimated to have affected 8 million people, according to the UN. It caused massive destruction across the country.
